Boeing Boeing
Comedy Theatre
Now booking until 20th October
Comedy by Marc Camoletti and Beverley Cross
Having heard so much about this show, my girlfriend and I finally managed to secure some seats to last night's performance.
We sat in Stalls row B 17-18. These were EXCELLENT! Agreed, a little neck-ache but totally worth it. You are so close to the action that you might as well be on stage with them. Neil Stuke's sweat was more than evident.
I was so excited to see Elena Rodgers playing the Italian air hostess. We saw her in Evita, and she blew us away. Here she shows theatreland how credible and versatile she can be as an actress.
All of the air hostesses are caricatures, but this is part of the play's charm. Doon Mackichan from Smack the Pony was the highlight - her impersonation of the German girlfriend was hysterical. Pure comic genius.
Amy Nuttall was also fun as the American, but was perhaps the most over-exaggerated of the three.
I defy anyone not to come out of this comedy smiling... no, correction, with pants splitting. The audience were in stitches throughout and there's nothing more infectious than other people laughing.
Take the play for what it is. Good, old fashioned nonsensical comedy. For a fan of big-set piece spectacles, this delivered on every polar opposite. It also showed why we should be proud of the diversity of the London stage.

I've now seen "Boeing Boeing" under two almost different casts. It is hysterical! It's the team effort that makes it work, superbly! Get along to see it now. (Or at least before mid-August if you love to see an entrancing woman at work!)

Saw boeing boeing last night and after spending 20 years as an air stewardesss myself laughed all the way through. The whole cast superb . The exaggeration of the american/german/italian accents and mannerisms truly made it for me and the stand in Neil was fabulous. The whole audience seemed to love it. Even though you knew what line was about to be delivered on occasions( rather like lauren and the "am I bovered") it made the anticipation and comical timing all the funnier.
Loved it for all adult ages...
