Lock up your valuables and swallow the key... 'Bad Girls - The Musical' is coming to the West End.
The first time I saw ITV1's drama series, two middle-aged inmates labelled 'The Julies' were desperately trying to dispose of a fellow prisoner's body. If the stage adaptation has the same unlikely storylines and elaborately dressed characters we're in for a treat!
The show had its 2006 world premiere at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds. The Garrick Theatre will be home to the robbers, thieves and murderers in September this year. The creators of the TV series, (Maureen Chadwick and Ann McManus) are behind the musical. They are also the pair responsible for Footballers Wives - like I said, we're in for a treat. Composer and lyricist Kath Gotts, and director Maggie Norris are also involved.
Two of our on-screen 'Bad Girls' favourites join the cast on stage. Nicole Faraday and Helen Fraser will show their bad side once again. Bring it on! I wonder whether they'll search us on the way in to the theatre.
Check out the official website - nasty but nice.
