The pint-sized Buenos Aires poppet 'Elena Rogers' will wave goodbye to Evita and from the 29th of May 2007, heads to the Comedy Theatre to perform in the West End play Boeing Boeing.
Elena will play the role of Gabriella, and joins Doon Mackichan (Gretchen), Adrian Dunbar (Bernard), Neil Stuke (Robert), Patrician Hodge (Bertha) and Amy Nuttall (Gloria).
The play follows the life of the Bernard, an architect living Paris. Obviously the city of love gets his romantic juices flowing... the man has not one, but three air hostess fiancees. It's not difficult to predict that his story contains a great deal of mayhem and matchmaking. For Elena Rogers, it'll be a far cry from Argentina.
Since her British stage debut in Evita at the Adelphi Theatre last
year Rogers has won the hearts of theatregoers aplenty. She has also appeared in her native Buenos Aires in Nine, Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables and Saturday Night Fever.
Boeing Boeing is directed by Matthew Warchus, designed by Rob Howell, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, and is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions. We've heard nothing but great reviews and with Elena in their ranks, things can only get better. Fasten your seatbelts... it's going to be one hell of a ride.
Boeing Boeing is currently booking until 20 October 2007.
