Shakespeare's Birthday Celebrations
Sunday 22 April 2007, 11am-4pm
The family festivities will explore the theme of Renaissance + Revolution in anticipation of the Globe's 2007 theatre season. There will be workshops and experienced actors will train members of the public to perform lines from Shakespeare on stage. Also games and activities for all ages, plus music from the Globe's favourite musicians.
Silent Shakespeare at the Globe by arrangement with the BFI
Monday 23 April 2007, 7pm and 8pm
Come and watch from Bankside as the white walls of the Globe become silver screens. A series of silent film adaptations of Shakespeare's works dating back to 1899 will be projected onto the exterior walls of the Globe, accompanied by live music from composer Laura Rossi and the Fourth Dimension string quartet. Each film showing lasts approximately 45 minutes.
