Just in case Daniel Radcliffe stripping off on stage isn't enough, there's a bit more A-list action heading towards the West End. This time, it's in the form of Billie Piper. Okay, so she may keep her clothes on (un-confirmed... reviews will reveal all) and there may not be any super-human Doctor Who moves going on but Christopher Hampton's 1975 play, Treats is set to be a big 'un. It opens at the Garrick Theatre28 Feb, following previews from 20 Feb. It's booking to 26 May 2007 so get snappy.
The play, produced by Bill Kenwright, is directed by Laurence Boswell and also stars Kris Marshall and Laurence Fox.
You all know Billie right? She's a former pop star and played Rose Tyler in BBC's Doctor Who. She also starred in the Beeb's The Canterbury Tales and Much Ado About Nothing. The media hounds also splashed her relationship with Chris Evans all over the tabloids. With a CV like that she should have no problem making her West End stage debut. Go girl.
You may even recognise her co-stars. Kris Marshall played Nick, in the BBC's My Family. TV addicts may also know him from Murder City and My Life in Film. Film buffs unite... he was also in Four Feathers and Love Actually. Laurence Fox starred in Lewis, Gosford Park and The Hole. Creepy...
The play follows the story of a young girl working for a struggling newspaper firm. With two men and a lot of testosterone on her plate, it's bound to include a few shots of romance, some betrayal and a dash of raunchiness. Let's hope so anyway... if not, you'll find us stalking Radcliffe at Equus.
